Using LinkedIn InMail Credits for InMail Campaigns

You can now send InMail messages directly through Meet Alfred using your available InMail credits. This new update gives you more flexibility to reach your prospects beyond Open Profiles and 1st-degree connections without needing to send messages manually

What’s New?

Meet Alfred only sent InMails to Open Profiles and 1st-degree connections previously to avoid using your LinkedIn credits.

Now, you can choose when Alfred should use your InMail credits, allowing you to reach more leads while staying fully in control.

To use InMail credits in Alfred, make sure you have:

  • An active LinkedIn Sales Navigator (Core/Advanced) subscription

  • Only available on selected Alfred plans to use Sales Navigator features (Business, Pro, Enterprise, Agency and Team Plans only)

  • This feature is not available for Personal and Basic Alfred plans.

How to Enable InMail Credits?

You can enable credit usage for each InMail step individually within your campaign.

To enable InMail credits:

  1. Go to Campaigns and open the campaign you want to edit.

  2. Select the InMail step in your sequence.

  3. Locate the toggle “Send InMail using credits.”

  4. Turn the toggle ON.

Take Note: The toggle is disabled by default to prevent accidental credit usage.

If your campaign contains multiple InMail steps, you can choose which steps will use credits and which will remain limited to Open Profiles only.

When creating a new InMail campaign, you can also enable this option during sequence setup.

Tracking InMail Credit Usage

Meet Alfred makes it easy to see when your InMail credit has been used.

In the Activity Page, messages sent using your InMail credits will show as “Credit InMail Message sent”

This allows you to easily compare Alfred activity with your LinkedIn credit balance.

Understanding Postponed and Abandoned Leads

When sending InMails, Alfred automatically manages retries to keep your campaigns running smoothly.

Postponed for 7 days

If your LinkedIn account runs out of InMail credits:

  • The activity page will show as:
    “Unable to send InMail message"

"Postponed for 7 days – No credits available.”

  • Alfred will retry sending the message every 7 days until credits become available.

Abandoned

To prevent leads from getting stuck in repeated attempts, Alfred will move a lead to Ignored Leads with an Abandoned status after three failed attempts.

This can happen when:

  • The lead is an Open Profile, but the message cannot be delivered.

  • The lead is not an Open Profile, and the “Send InMail using credits” toggle is turned OFF.

💡 Tip: If leads appear as Abandoned, you can enable the option to "Send InMail using credits" for that step and move the leads back into the campaign. There's no need to create a new campaign.
